I want to recommend my friends Civilization 7, but a few things (especially the UI) make that hard to do. So, here are the mods I always recommend in conjunction with the game itself. Feel free to comment more mods you like.
Instructions for Installing Mods (Dropdown)
Either use the text links here, or go to CivFanaticsForums and search for the mod.
Once you find the exact mod, select it. Click "Download" in the top right.
Extract the zip files into this folder: Users->[your username]->AppData->Local->FiraxisGames->Sid Meier's Civilization VII->Mods
Open Civ 7. On the main menu, select Additional Content, then Mods.
Enable all the critically important mods. Then, mess around however you like with the optional ones until you find the setup you like.
Mods List (Dropdowns)
Important (START WITH THE MOD FOR THE MOD PAGE)
TCS Improved Mod Page - Makes the mod page a lot less ugly.
City Hall , Sukritract's Simple UI Adjustments, KayleeR's Misc UI Modifications, F1rstDan's Cool UI, Completed Production, TCS Improved Plot Tooltip, Town Focus Buildings, Better Bridges, Enhanced Town Focus Info- Various important improvements to the city screen and a few other misc elements.
RHQ Artificially Intelligent AI Mod - Greatly improves the AI so that you actually have to try. The AI are still not very difficult but definitely make more interesting opponents.
Auto Repair: Restore Your City Instantly - Saves a lot of tedious clicking when a disaster strikes.
Detailed Tech Civic Progress - Tells you how much science/culture you need to research each tech or civic, not just how many turns it will take.
Leonardfactory's Policy Yield Previews - Tells you the effects you will get from a policy before you slot it into your government.
More Lenses/Trade Lens - Makes the map much easier to navigate and filter for important information.
Non-Sticky Unit Selection - Allows you to deselect something by clocking an empty space.
Optional
MantisMaestro's Compact Production Chooser - Squishes down the production choice list, which can be nice but costs some details.
Better Main Menu - Does what it sounds like.
Border Toggles - For a little decluttering of the screen.
Immersive Diplomacy - Makes leader characters face you, the player, instead of each other.
Leugi's Diplomacy Ribbon Tweaks - Alters the look of the leader diplomacy ribbons at the top right.
No In-Game 2k Icon - Removes an out-of-place brand icon.
